Write the World Contest: Every month is a new writing challenge. The winning entrant receives $100, and the runner-up and best peer-reviewer receive $50.

Bulwer Lytton Fiction Contest: Just for fun... The Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest is a "whimsical literary competition that challenges entrants to compose opening sentences to the worst of all possible novels." The "official deadline" is April 15th but the "actual deadline" is June 30th.

52-Word-Story Contest: No age requirement. Deadline on the 21st of every month.  New prompts monthly.  This month: Write a 53-word story about something green, BUT . . . do not use the word green.  Winners are published and receive a free book.
