Tragic Hero Essay Assignment

By now, you should have formulated an opinion as to whether or not Macbeth is a tragic hero based upon Aristotle’s definition.

You are to support your opinion with specifics examples from the text to support each aspect of the definition of a tragic hero. For example, you will need specific examples for:

  • Error in judgment/frailty in character
  • Point(s) in play character could have saved himself
  • Change(s) in the course of the play of the character
  • Emotions caused in you the reader

This paper will help you with the following aspects of writing: thesis, outline, determining direct quotes from the work to incorporate into your paper, deciding on secondary sources to use, how to correctly use parenthetical references, transitions, etc.
