Shakespeare Unit Research

Step 1: Preliminary Research: Do a little research for each of the following questions below.

First, you will take notes on each topic using the Google Doc note-taking sheet below. Then you will formulate one or more paragraphs to answer the following questions for EVERY topic. Use one or more of the database links provided.  

Be sure to keep track of your sources (by putting citations in your notes) as you find information so you can make a work cited page later on.  Type your paragraphs into a Google Doc when you are ready to synthesize your research.

Step 2: Research Paper

You will choose one of the topics you’ve explored to expand on and write a mini-research paper. You must include a thesis statement with an assertion.  You may need to conduct more research than you already have to fully develop your paper.

You will write a 2 page research paper (not including the Title Page).  You will need at least THREE sources for this paper.  

Requirements:

  • Typed - Times New Roman - double-spaced, Size 12 - 1" margins, running header
  • Title page, body of paper is 2+ pages (a minimum of 5 paragraphs)
  • Five parenthetical (or in-text) citations and a works cited page (last page) with 3+ sources
  • Staple in upper left corner. No plastic or cardboard cover/folder
  • The title page must have the following:

Possible topics in the Elizabethan Era (also known as the English Renaissance) are as follows:
