Entering Grade 12 Summer Assignments 2020: Home

English: Entering Grade 12 (All Students)

All Entering CP2 Seniors (EN431) and CP4 Seniors (EN472) must:  read the Google Doc below and write a memorable college essay which follows the suggestions outlined in the articles and videos linked at the bottom.  This essay is due the first day of academics.

Entering Honors Seniors (EN490): Summer Reading Handout and Description:  Please click on this Google Doc and read the instructions for summer reading.  Note that there are TWO assignments.


Assignment #1: Read at Least ONE novel of literary merit below. Although we highly recommend you read as many books as you can this summer, you are required to read at least one of your choosing from the list below. You must obtain your own hard copy of the book, as you must actively read and annotate the novel (directly on the page or by using post-it notes). Bring your annotated copy of the book on the first day of academics.

  • Beloved by Toni Morrison
  • Station 11 by Emily St. John Mandel
  • All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
  • A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
  • A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
  • Kindred by Octavia Butler
  • Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

Math: Advanced Placement Statistics Summer Assignment

Only Grade 12 AP Statistics:  Steps for the Assignment:

  1. Click on the full PDF of the assignment, resources, supplies, due dates, academic honesty, and grading.  
  2. Follow the instructions on the PDF and in Schoology.  Complete the assignment. 
  3. This assignment will count as a quiz grade.  Please review the rubric to understand how it will be graded.
