The Research Process
Step 1: Select a topic.
Step 2: Narrow down your topic if need be.
Step 3: Find at least 3 reliable sources (peer reviewed articles/essays, books..etc. Not Wikipedia).
Step 4: Read and take notes about each source. Paraphrase the main argument, bullet useful facts, and copy quotations that are imperative. No, highlighting is not the same thing as taking notes. Be sure to get/make a full MLA 8 citations for each source while you are taking notes. Use the Note-Taking Sheet if you wish (click File and Make a Copy).
