New Chromebooks: The Library has 30 Chromebooks (in addition to the 30 PCs in the SmartRoom). They allow you to access the internet using the Chrome browser. Everything you save is online. You cannot run programs such as Word or PowerPoint. To logon to a Chromebook:
1. Enter your username and password.
2. Enter your Monty Tech email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) and password.
3. Click on the Chrome browser to open the internet.
Gmail: Go to gmail.com and login with your Monty Tech email address (email@example.com) and password. On the Chromebook, click on the mail icon.
Google Drive: From Gmail, click on the Google Apps Icon:
or go to drive.google.com. This is where you will store all your files.
Create and share documents from here. Upload files from your computer. Choose to keep them in their current format (i.e. Word or PowerPoint) or convert them to the Google Format. Organize your files into folders.
These files are shareable. Share with other students and/or teachers by typing a name. Choose to have others edit, comment, or view.
Sites: Teachers may use this to create their own website. You can also create your own site.
Google Classroom is a learning management system. Join a teacher’s class with a code. View and complete assignments online using Google documents.
The Easybib App automatically signs in users to their Easybib account and simplies the login process to make and save bibliographies.
